Our Tenets of Faith

We Believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.      2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21

We Believe in the Trinity; that there IS the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.      Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

We Believe that God is the Creator of Heaven and Earth and all that is therein.      Genesis 1:1; John 1:3

We Believe that Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, was born of the virgin Mary, conceived of the Holy Ghost.      Matthew 1:20-23; John 3:16; Luke 1:35; John 1:14

We Believe that the Holy Ghost is Deity and the working Power of God.  We recognize His work as Convictor, Teacher, Leader, Comforter, and Enabler.  We Believe that He regenerates and performs the miracle of the New Birth; that He will resurrect the Righteous dead and will rapture away the righteous dead and will catch up the Bride of Christ which is the True Church of Christ which spans across many denominations.      John 16:7-15; Acts 13:2; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:1; 1 Corinthians 15:35-44; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

We Believe that God must be in first and foremost position in our lives, coming before and above all others with nothing else coming between God and us as individuals.      Exodus 20:3-5; Matthew 6:24

We Believe that man is totally depraved by nature, lost, and away from God as a result of the fall of Adam.      Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:2-16; Ephesians 2:13

We Believe that Study of the Word of God, the Bible, is a necessity for a righteous life.      Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 2:15

We Believe in the substitutionary death and body resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ; that He was crucified on Calvary's Cross, was in the grave three days, that God raised Him from the dead, and that He now sits on the right hand of the Father as the only mediator between God and man, interceding for the saints.   Romans 4:2-5; 1 Peter 2:24;  Luke 24:39; Matthew 27:38:50; Luke 9:22; John 2:19; Matthew 12:40; Matthew 28:6; Hebrews 12:2; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25

We Believe in the resurrection and future imortality of the human body.   1 Corinthians 15:20-23

We Believe that soul salvation comes only by regeneration through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son.      John 3:3; Galatians 6:15; 1 John 1:7-9

We Believe there is salvation ONLY in Jesus Christ.      John 10:9; Acts 4:12

We Believe in everlasting life for all Believers on the Lord Jesus Christ, and in endless punishment for all who reject Him as Saviour.      Daniel 12:1-2; Matthew 24:46; Mark 9:43-48

We Believe in a literal and eternal hell of everlasting fire and brimstone; a place where there will be everlasting torment.      Psalm 9:17; Jude 13; Revelation 14:10; Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-44; Revelation 20:12-15

We Believe in Baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus; and that it is an act of obedience and should be observed.      Acts 2:38; Acts 8:12

We Believe that the baptism with the Holy Ghost is a definite and crisis experience in addition to, and after the new birth, and is a promise of the Father to each and every one who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, to endue us with power from the Holy Ghost for His service, to lead and guide us, to transform our lives into His likeness, and to seal us unto the day of redemption.     2 Corinthians 3:13-18; Ephesians 4:30; Joel 2:28,29; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 2:16-18

NOTE: Though we do believe in the gift of tongues, we do not teach the Believer to seek "tongues," but to seek Him and ask for the best gifts.      1 Corinthians 14:37; 1 Corinthians 12:31; 14:1

We Believe that Christ is the head over all things and that the Church is his body.      Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18-19

We Believe that the duty of the Church is to give the Gospel to all men.     Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15

We Believe impractical holiness and the maintenance of good works, in putting off the old man with his deeds, such as old habits and fleshly indulgences, and inputting on the new man, who, after God, is created in righteousness and true holiness.    2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 7:1; Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:24; Galatians 3:27

We Believe in Divine healing of the body as a provision in the Saviour's atoning sacrifice on Calvary's Cross for humanity, and that God's plan for healing for the church is always through this provision, the laying on of hands of the Believers, and for the elders to anoint with oil in the name of Jesus Christ, praying the prayer of faith.      Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:13-16; Mark 16:18

We Believe in the second and personal pre-millennial and eminent coming of Jesus Christ for His true Spirit filled Church to be caught up with Him to escape the wrath of God that will come on the earth.      John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Mark 13:34-37; Luke 21:36; Matthew 25:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Revelation 7:9,13-14; 10:7; 11:12-15

We Believe that the Holy Ghost will be taken off the earth at the time of the catching away of the saints.      2 Thessalonians tells us that the Holy Spirit must betaken out of the way before the spirit of anti-Christ can rule this world, as God's Spirit is greater than the spirit of anit-Christ and will prevent the coming of the man of sin into power as long as He, the Holy Spirit, is on the earth.   After the Holy Spirit will be lifted and will permit the anti-Christ to take world rule.      Revelation 13     Also, the Church and the Holy Ghost will not leave the earth until after the great falling away and we learn/know the identity of the anti-Christ.      2 Thessalonians 2:3
We recognize the apostacy of the present age which will culminate in the manifestation of the man of sin, the anti-Christ, and the tribulation which will last seven years from which the Church will be taken.      1 Timothy 4:1-3; 2 Timothy 4:1-4; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10; Revelation 17, 18.

We Believe that while there are various views of the time of the catching away of the saints, the most plausible time of the tribulation is immediately prior to the out-pouring of the Wrath of God at the Sounding of the Seventh and last Trumpet.      1 Corinthians 15:51,52; Revelation 10:7; Revelation 6:9,10 and 7:13,14

We Believe in the literal and personal return of Christ with His Bride, the true Church, to the earth for His Millennial Reign of peace and righteousness.      Daniel 7:13-15; Revelation 20:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:1; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10; Zechariah 14:5

We Believe that satan is a real person and has a personality.      Job 1:8-12; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15; Revelations 20:1-3,7,10

We Believe in the binding of satan in the bottomless pit at the coming of Christ earth until the Millennial Reign of Christ is over, where he (satan) will not tempt the people of the earth during Christ's reign of peace.      Revelation 20:1-3

We Believe that satan will be loosed for a season, afterwhich he will be finally and eternally banished from the earth and heaven, being cast into the Lake of Fire.  That death and hell and all the wicked, after the Great White Throne Judgement, shall likewise be banished from the earth forever, into everlasting punishment.      Revelation 20:7-15

We Believe in the bringing in of a new heaven and a new earth, as the final state, and that all things then being new will be in the state of perfection.      Isaiah 65:17,22; 2 Peter 3:13 Revelation 21:1-22

We Believe in being sanctified, and that it is a definite work of Grace.  It begins in the heart of Believers, and as they live a godly life it progresses to remove the pride and lusts of the flesh, which is detrimental to spiritual life.      Leviticus 20:8; Hebrews 13:12; Philippians 1:6

We Believe in the Lord's Supper or Communion service.      Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthian 11:26

We Believe in Feet Washing, as it was a direct command of Jesus Christ to his disciples and to us.      John 13:4-15

Conscientious Scruples

The Place of Women

As the Holy Ghost makes no distinction between sex, but honors both men and women with His presence, (Acts 2:17-18) therefore, women who are called of God have equal rights in the ministry of the Gospel, not necessarily equal in all administrative duties.

Marriage and Divorce

Since there has been much contention and discord among the people of the Church because of this question, we feel constrained to speak our convictions that we have received from reading the Words of Jesus Christ Himself as recorded in Matthew 19:9 which says, "And I say unto you, whatsoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultry and whoso marrieth her that is put away doth commit adultry."

It seems that Jesus explained this question according to the circumstances of this particular case.  He justified that no re-marriage except in the case where the law of matrimony had been broken by fornication, but for the one and only cause He did justify a second marriage when He said, "And marry another."  It is clearly seen among Pentecostal people that some divorced and remarried have the approval of God upon their lives, while others do not.  This should certainly be sufficient evidence to the circumstance of the case or cause of divorce.  In the 4th chapter of John (v18), Jesus undisputedly recognized the women of Samaria to be legally married to the fifth husband, but did not recognize the sixth man to be her husband.  This shows that second marriage is recognized of the Lord in some cases.

Some do not recognize the second marriage as being legal in the eyes of God, however if this were the way the Lord looked at the matter, He would have said to the woman of Samaria that she had "one husband and six other men" but He did not do this, but recognized the fifth marriage to be as legal as the first.

Also, Paul supports an instance where remarriage is lawful.  In Corinthians 7:10-14,16, we are told that we are not to separate if at all possible for we might save our spouse.  However, in verse 15 we see that Paul tells us that if the unbeliever leaves, let him go for we are no longer bound in such cases.

Then later he says in verses 27 and 28a,  "Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.  But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned;"

Some teachers will tell us that this is talking about the virgins, but it can not be.  If we continue, we see that Paul addresses the virgins too, saying,  "...and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned."

Looking at 27 and 28, we see clearly that the man indeed has a wife and if he's loosed from that wife, and remarries, he did not sin.

We believe that, keeping in context with other passages, this applies to those who were innocent parties in adultry cases, and those whose unbelieving spouse leaves.
