Polydactyle Cats

And our two turned 6 months old,
these large kittens were really cute...
First is my wife's kitten.  She calls
her Precious...   I just call her Raghead.
I also refer to her as the Runt since she
was one of two tiny runts in the litter.

Then we have my big guy.
He's Mordecai.  We call
him Mordy.  He's rough,
he's tough, he's buff, He's....

...holding up a tree?  Actually, he likes
laying in this basket with his fig tree.
He thinks it's his because he climbs it
until it falls and he comes tumbling out.

Then Mordy catches his first mouse.
Ain't any mouse going to get away
from those big paws.  He's got 6
toes on the front and 5 on the rear.

Then as Mordy lays there admiring his
first catch, his sister, Precious, comes
to take a look.  She was sure proud of
him.  Now she's a good mouser too.

Then came seven months old.  Old Mordy
decided it was time that he thinks about
girls.  His sister was rather safe since
we had her broke.  Well, the vet said
he fixed her but after he got done,
she don't work right any more.

Anyway, since Mordy got interested in
girls, he lays at the doors and windows
and watches the pretty little white cat
from next door as she sachets past him...
but on opposite sides of a glass, sooo....

...he sits now and makes sure he's
looking as good as I do.  <grin>
Notice those wonderful fuzzy
feet he has.  That's a trait of the
Maine Shag (Maine Coon) as is
the long hair. He's at least a part
Maine Shag.   Handsome, isn't he?

Just like any other sibling, he and his
Raghead sister do have their moments...
but they're playing more than anything.
But being descended from apparently
wild cats, they play very rough.

Then after a day of rough-housing with his
sister and me, he figures it's time to take
a cat nap before looking for another mouse.

Then Precioussees that it is indeed a
great time for a cat nap with Mordy.
They lay snuggled together a lot like this.

Look a the stand next to them...   That's
16 inches from leg to leg...   that makes these
seven month kittens pretty large so far, huh?

Then as Precious awakens, Mordy still sleeps
on in one of his over relaxed sleep positions..

Oh...   the background I made is the kind of
footprint some of these guys would make with their front
paws.  So much for the size six for those girls.

Nope!!!   There's no more cats down here....
